Sermon given on July 31, 2022
Today, Dusty discussed the idea that once we are saved by believing in Jesus, we are always saved and we cannot lose that salvation. People may be afraid that they could lose their salvation for a number of reasons, perhaps they think that when they accepted Jesus, they were too young to make such a serious decision. Perhaps they think they have sinned too deeply to recover, and Christ's sacrifice won't cover them anymore. They may even think that if they forget they are saved, they can lose their salvation. But they can't.
Jesus tells us that "no one can snatch us out of His hands", and this implies that our salvation can't be snatched from us. If we sin, we lose the connection with God, we need to repent, and seek reconciliation with God. But our salvation doesn't leave us.
